Film Studies: Chapman University wants to overtake USC and NYU
Launching its for-profit movie company, Bob Bassett, dean of Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, believes this will push Chapman past the high-profiles of NYU and USC. The movie company, named Chapman Entertainment, will produce and distribute five to 10 feature films each year. It is a smart move as Dodge gains momentum in its competitive academic environment as it continues to hire well-connected Hollywood faculty and resident filmmakers. "The idea is to be a miniature Paramount or Sony," Bassett said. "There are many ways that we are parallel to a studio," writes LA Times.

Hosted annually by the A. Gary Anderson Center for Economic Research at Chapman University, the nationally recognized Economic Forecast Conference utilizes the faculty and student developed Chapman Econometric Model to provide national and local businesses and organizations with the information they need to make more effective planning and investment decisions. This year's conference will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at the Hilton Orange Count/Costa Mesa.
